About Sherin Moustafa

Sherin Moustafa is a multifaceted and accomplished pianist and mentor based out of the Phoenix metro area. With Taiwanese and Egyptian heritage, Sherin speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and English, and is competent in Japanese, Arabic, German, Italian, and French. Her cultural background allows her to develop a worldview and an appreciation for both western and eastern music. Not surprisingly, Sherin fell in love with music at a young age because it has both the creative and serene elements that she saw in herself.

Sherin is the co-owner of Music Lessons Arizona in Tempe, Arizona, offering mentorship to children, parents, and adults. She also operates group instructions for children, and seminars for parents and adults. She has a master’s degree in Collaborative Piano Performance and a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Arizona State University.  She is a versatile pianist specializing in classical genre and music theatre. She is often invited to perform at special events because of her ability to provide a captivating performance.

Sherin has received awards from piano competitions and also the keyboardist featured in the 2015 Zoni award-winning cast of Dreamgirls presented by the Desert Foothills Theatre.

Sherin served as an adjunct faculty at Central Arizona College, where she creates lesson plans for adult group piano classes and private piano instructions for both non-music and music majors. She also served as an adjunct faculty and collaborative pianist at Mesa Community College and collaborative pianist/co-director at Perry High School. With Sherin’s assistance, the Perry High School concert choir achieved the Superior Award at the 2011 Heritage Festival.

As a result, the choir was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City in March of 2012.

Under Sherin’s tutelage, more than 97% of her pupils have been awarded superior honors and distinctions through statewide and internationally acclaimed piano programs, and many of her students have won piano competitions in local, state, national and international levels. Sherin is a proud member of the East Valley Music Teacher Association (EVMTA), Arizona State Music Teacher Association (ASMTA), and Music Teacher National Association (MTNA). She is currently the Immediate Past President of the EVMTA.

In 2019, Sherin became a National Certified Teacher of Music through the MTNA, and she was also the recipient of the 2022 EVMTA Member of the Year Award. She has a passion for serving others in the musical community and is committed to developing excellence from her pupils.
