Sherin Moustafa is a distinguished entrepreneur, piano pedagogue, and accomplished pianist renowned for her dedication to excellence in music education. As the owner of Music Lessons Arizona in Tempe, Sherin has transformed beginners into competition winners while inspiring students of all levels through dynamic piano classes, parent seminars, and tailored instruction. Her students have represented Music Lessons Arizona in prestigious international competitions, earning accolades for their exceptional performances. They also give back to the community by performing at local assisted living facilities, bringing joy and the gift of music to seniors.
Sherin holds a master’s degree in Collaborative Piano Performance and a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Arizona State University. A versatile musician, she excels in classical piano and music theatre. Her multicultural heritage as Taiwanese and Egyptian, deepens her perspective on music education. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, and proficient in several other languages, including Japanese, Arabic, German, Italian, and French, Sherin incorporates a global appreciation for music into her teaching.
Currently serving as the 3rd Vice President of the Arizona State Music Teacher’s Association (ASMTA), Sherin oversees the planning and operations of the organization’s annual state conference. She is also a National Certified Teacher of Music and a recipient of the 2022 EVMTA Member of the Year Award, recognizing her significant contribution to the music community.
In addition to her teaching, Sherin is actively giving presentations and workshops aimed at helping music educators and artists build entrepreneurial skills and achieve business success. She is passionate about empowering her peers to combine their artistic talents with practical strategies to thrive in today’s competitive environment.
Inspired by her grandmother’s teachings on generosity, Sherin is deeply committed to spreading joy, happiness, and meeting basic needs through acts of kindness and service. At Music Lessons Arizona, she actively leads donation drives supporting the Tempe Community Action Agency (TCAA) and World Central Kitchen (WCK), exemplifying her belief that music and compassion together can transform lives.
Sherin’s professional journey includes serving as adjunct faculty at Central Arizona College and Mesa Community College, where she developed innovative lesson plans and provided private instruction. As the collaborative pianist of the Perry High School concert choir, she guided the ensemble to earn a Superior Award at the 2011 Heritage Festival, culminating in a performance at Carnegie Hall in 2012.
An award-winning pianist, Sherin was featured as the keyboardist in the 2015 Zoni Award-winning cast of Dreamgirls by Desert Foothills Theatre. Her students, under her mentorship, consistently achieve top honors at local, state, national, and international levels.
